RPT To Introduce AccuTrim™ WJ-110 Abrasive Water Jet Trimming Solution At IMTS 2006

Auburn Hills, MI - Robotic Production Technology (RPT) will demonstrate its new AccuTrim™ WJ-110 six-axis robot with Abrasive Water Jet at the IMTS at McCormick Center in Chicago, September 6-13. RPT is exhibiting with H2O Jet of Olympia, WA.

RPT will demonstrate three-dimensional, abrasive water jet trimming of a stainless steel part. During the demonstration, the part will be approximately placed into the robot's work area and an RPT AccuFind™ Sensor will quickly locate the part and find varying critical feature positions to ensure the trimming occurs in the correct location.

The new AccuTrim WJ-110 robot utilized in abrasive water jet applications is equipped with a Severe Dust & Liquid Protection (SDLP) package that raises the robot environmental rating to IP67. The robot is also equipped with the new FANUC R-J3iC robot controller and a high pressure swivel-free plumbing package.

RPT offers a choice of H2O Jet Ultra High Pressure Pumps with this system, producing up to 60,000 psi of water pressure. All these components are combined into RPT JetTool® water jet trimming systems configured to meet customer specific requirements.
