Servo-driven Gantry System

The Osprey is a servomotor-gantry system that builds into a low cost machine suited for a variety of applications including routing, engraving, plasma, laser, and waterjet cutting. According to the manufacturer, the system performs such tasks without sacrificing reliability, job throughput, or finished part quality.

The kits provide all the parts needed to assemble a general production machine. The Osprey machine is pre-assembled at the factory, fitted with servomotors, datum switches, and a wiring harness. The harness extends to the AMC control, which houses all of the motion control elements of the system, including the drive amplifiers and power supplies necessary to drive the machine. The machine is available in table sizes ranging from 2- × 2-ft to 20- × 20-ft.

The system comes complete with an AMC machine controller and Graphical Programming Software (GPS), which includes DXF and HPGL into machine codes. It allows manually or graphically editing of the job program sequence, to which I/O sequences and tools offsets can be added before sending to the AMC controller.
