Single Point Grippers

Single point grippers are designed for thin wall or cross-section workpieces needing high holding strength with minimum clamping pressure.

The conical shaped end provides concentrated force at its single point to maximize penetration and retaining force, even though load pressures may be minimized. The combination of high holding force/low clamping energy helps minimize warpage, distortion, and "spring back" while allowing optimum speeds and feeds. The high directional force provided by the grippers is said to be especially effective in turning and chuck jaw applications.

Grippers are manufactured and stocked in eight different body diameters and heights from 0.25-in. through 0.5-in. though each has the same size/shape point. Grippers are made of M2 HSS, hardened to RC 60-62 with a black oxide finish.
