Solid Edge Part Add-In for the ESPRIT CAM
The ESPRIT Solid Edge Add-In adds one menu item to the user's Solid Edge program called "Tools/Add-In/ESPRIT/Send Active File to ESPRIT." When the button on the Add-In menu is selected, ESPRIT automatically opens and loads the current part model ready to be machined.
Parasolid: One Solid Kernel for both products
ESPRIT and Solid Edge both utilize the Parasolid modeling kernel, thereby allowing the direct exchange of the part model and eliminating the need for data translation. Within ESPRIT all machining is performed directly on the solid model, thus assuring that the on-screen "as machined" part exactly matches the original "as designed" version. By utilizing one kernel for both CAD and CAM, and by machining directly from the solid model, the Solid Edge / ESPRIT CAD/CAM solution assures maximum integrity of the final part. ESPRIT customers have successfully reduced CNC programming time by as much as 80% utilizing this solution.
Associative Connection ESPRIT's associative connection to Solid Edge ensures that any changes in the Solid Edge part model are immediately reflected inside ESPRIT and the resulting G-Code part program. The ESPRIT Engineering Change Manager is an associative tool that enables the part programmer to manage part revisions and engineering changes, automatically updating any previously defined tool path based on new or modified geometry.
