SURFCAM's integrated toolpath verification uses solid models to display the material removal process for 2, 3, 4 and 5-axis milling and turning. Verification lets programmers detect errors on the computer without tying up the NC machine. Added confidence lets you machine faster, and discover efficient high speed machining strategies.

Surfware, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of SURFCAM 2004, featuring new verification technology from MachineWorks™, Ltd. The new SURFCAM Verification package is fully integrated within SURFCAM and provides customers with visually-rich graphics and superior verification tools. The new simulation technology found in SURFCAM 2004 provides a number of powerful simulation tools. The perfectly accurate stock to design-part comparison ensures that the finished product stays true to the initial CAD model. By comparing the processed stock model with the original design, SURFCAM.

Verification quickly identifies, lists and displays surface irregularities, remaining stock material and rapid-feed clashes. Infinite navigation and zoom tools enable you to manipulate the model, with no quality-degradation, while the toolpath is being animated. Animation can be paused at specific events to closely inspect areas of concern, or accelerated to avoid waiting through long, less-critical portions of the program.

SURFCAM Verification is unsurpassed in terms of speed and accuracy. The new turbo engine simulates a one-million-cut toolpath in seconds, greatly enhancing productivity.

    Additional features include:

    • Identify remaining stock material at an early stage to reduce valuable finishing time
    • When the stock is divided, you may remove the part of the stock that is not of interest
    • Dynamically section the part to reveal hidden details
    • Any collisions with the stock or fixtures are automatically logged for review
    • Inspect the part to determine finished dimensions
    • Display coordinates of the tool at specific positions

The ability to verify an NC toolpath is becoming an increasingly critical step in the machining process. Verifying your toolpaths in a virtual environment first enables you to detect inefficiencies and potential costly mistakes before any real damage can occur. SURFCAM Verification provides you with the confidence that your part program is accurate and efficient.
