Westlake Village, CA Surfware Inc., developer of SURFCAM CAD/CAM Systems, announced recently that its latest release, SURFCAM Velocity® version 3.0 is now shipping.
SURFCAM Velocity version 3.0 focuses on increasing productivity across many manufacturing disciplines. Highlights include: significantly enhanced 4- and 5-axis milling capabilities that offer reduced programming time and increased material-removal efficiency for molds, dies, automotive parts, aerospace parts, and turbo machinery; new toolpath containment, with APT-like Tool-To, -On, and -Past options, that provides precise control of toolpath-extent over multiple surfaces; Toolpath Templates that capture user knowledge and machining preferences to dramatically streamline the part-programming process; and significantly augmented API (Application Programming Interface) hooks that make SURFCAM more customizable to specific user needs than ever before.
Glenn Coleman, vice president of product engineering for Surfware, says, "SURFCAM Velocity version 3.0 includes more significant enhancements over a broader spectrum of machining applications than any release in the seven years since I joined the company. Every one of our on-maintenance customers will benefit from the improvements in this release. Manufacturers of airframe components should be especially pleased. Combining our world-class 5-axis milling capabilities with the absolutely unparalleled material-removal rates of our patent-pending TrueMill technology will reduce the cycle times of these very expensive components to a small fraction of what they are now."
