Toshiba Tungaloy America adds the T7020 CVD coated grade to its impressive line of steel-cutting coated inserts
Toshiba Tungaloy America adds the T7020 CVD coated grade to its impressive line of steel-cutting coated inserts. The new grade is designed for medium- to high-speed continuous and interrupted turning of steels and stainless steels.
The T7020 boasts a multiple layer composite coating securely applied over a specially engineered tough carbide substrate. The surface-enhanced substrate offers improved resistance to the fractures and chipping typically associated with interrupted cutting.
The T7020's coating is mainly composed of a TiCN layer with columnar crystal grains for wear-resistance and toughness, and a micro-grain Al2O3 layer which contributes to the grade's high-speed cutting capability.
Also incorporated into the T7020 is Toshiba Tungaloy's new CVD coating technique which dramatically improves the adhesion of the coating to the substrate.
