TCV-51 T vertical machining center

YCI, Inc., a leading manufacturer of CNC machine tools, has introduced its new TCV-51 T vertical machining center to the job and production shop markets. Equipped with a unique Isolated Direct Drive (IDD) spindle design for less vibration, lower noise and temperature, and improved spindle life and accuracy, the machining center features a 7.5 HP AC digital drive that provides a spindle speed of 12,000 rpm with optional 15,000 rpm. The TCV-51T also features an auto pallet changer that is driven by a servomotor and high-speed rotary mechanism, which makes one cycle of pallet change in four seconds.

The travel of TCV-1T is at the rapid feed rate of 1890 ipm at all 3 axes. With the servomotors directly coupled to the ballscrews, backlash and ballscrew temperature is maintained at a low level. X-axis travel is 20", Y-axis travel is 12.6", and Z-axis is 11.8". Table size is 25.60" x 14.37" with a load capacity of 150 pounds. The TCV-51T is designed with ECO-technology that utilizes self-lubricated linear motion guides and ballscrew. The highly efficient lubrication system requires refilling only twice a year. This new system is designed to be environmentally conscious while reducing the cost of lubrication oil changes. The machine base is ergonomically designed to efficiently centralize chips for easy disposal. Compact design minimizes floor space and is only 66" wide.

The new Fanuc MXP100i control is complimented with a Fanuc AC digital servo motor and absolute encoder. Additional features include 8.4" color LCD monitor, PCMCIA interface, RS-232C interface, a full alphanumeric keyboard, high-speed rigid tapping, and helical interpolation. Rugged MEEHANITE® castings provide for optimum structural stability and exceptional vibration damping. A high-speed, 16 tool swing arm ATC system changes from tool to tool in just 0.8 second. Maximum tool weight is 8.8 lb while maximum length is 7.8". Table positioning accuracy is ±0.00016" with a repeatability of ±0.00008".

Other TCV-51T features include spindle air blast system that protects the tool taper from chips and eliminates run-out caused by chips on tool shanks. In addition, the machining center includes cutting air blast, spindle air curtain, heat exchanger, oil skimmer, and handheld coolant gun and air nozzle. Spindle chillers are also standard to prolong spindle life.
